MALBAS ANCESTRAL HOUSE Lansang Compound Doldol St., Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte

Dr. Pedro Maraviles Malbas was Cabadbaran's Public Health Officer during the American Regime in the 1920s.  He was responsible for the construction of sanitary toilets, deep wells, and drainage canal in the town.

He was born on October 22, 1895 in the Municipality of Romblon to spouses Antonio Moreno Malbas and Juana Maraviles Malbas.  He married Feligonia Dagani Curato (December 24, 1900 - September 8, 1988) with who he had at least 2 sons and 5 daughters, including the beauteous Cabadbaranon, Rosario "Sayong" Curato Malbas  (December 09, 1929- October 19, 2008).

Tiya Sayong, as some fondly calls her, was Cabadbaran's 26th Municipal Mayor (1992-2001).  She married on 18 April 1964 Edelmiro Atega Amante,  the son of Leoncio A. Amante and Rosario C. Atega.  The latter was the long time Representative of Agusan del Norte's 2nd Congressional District, became the Executive Secretary of President Fidel V. Ramos.

From the Dr. Malbas' descendants also came political luminaries, grandson Erlpe John M. Amante and Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante - Matba, who alternately were elected as Agusan del Norte's  Provincial Governor and Congressman for several terms.

Dr. Pedro Malbas died on April 1969 at the age of 73, and the Ancestral House is recently marked as "closed" in the Google Map App.
